We'd recommend starting with a 20 second plunge. Over time, you can stay in longer - but there's no need to do long sessions to see results! Just 1-3 minutes is sufficient to get the benefits of cold exposure. Plunging between 1 & 3 times a week is optimal. As always, listen to your body and don't over do it too soon.

To keep your water fresh, drain and refill regularly. Alternatively, our baths come with an inner and outer lid to keep the water clean while not in use. Avoid keeping the same water for more than a week at a time.

Putting your head under the water in an ice bath can accelerate heat loss. It may feel refreshing if practiced safely, but is not necessary to achieve the benefits of the cold shock response.

The safest way to recover is slowly and gradually after the bath. Don't jump straight into a hot shower - this will actually promote a drop in your core temperature! Rather, rug up in warm clothes, drink a warm beverage, and keep your body moving. It's the best time to get those steps in!
